Saskia de Jong, born 1973 in Alphen aan den Rijn, is a poet and writes film textes.
In 2004 she made her debut with ‘zoekt vaas’ that was nominated for the C. Buddingh’ prize. ‘Stubborn language, which you don't hear much and which won't leave you alone,’ was the opinion of the jury. Her debut was followed by “resistent” (2006) and “De Deugende Cirkel” (2010).
In her poems she describes everyday occurrences in a colourful experimental language. In 2007 Saskia de Jong was nominated for the Paul Snoek Poetry Prize and in the same year she received the Poetry Day Prize for the poem ‘simple formula’.

Since 2005 she is also writing textes, poems and sound designs for films by Ine Lamers.

The HALMA grant for Sana Valiulina was made possible by the dutch foundation for literature.
