Ralf Lappert was born on December 21st, 1958 in Zurich. He studied to be a graphic artist. He interrupted writing for some time and founded a Jazz Club with a friend. From 1996 to 2004, he worked as a screenwriter (among others, for a Swiss television station). Beside other recognitions, he was honored with the Swiss Book Award 2008. Today, he lives as an author in Listowel, Country Kerry, Ireland.
