Peeter Helme, born 1978 in Tallinn, studied history and religious studies in Tartu, Göttingen and Berlin. He worked as press spokesman of the Estonian Institute and editor of the magazine “Estonian Culture”,since 2007 he works as freelance journalist and writer in Estonia.
In 2009 his novel “September” and in 2007 his novel “Puudutus” (The Touch) were published. A drama of his, an adaptation of Karl Ernst von Baer's dissertation "On the endemic diseases of Estonians" was published in the literary journal “Looming” 12/2009, a short story “Lihtne Buxtehude” (Easy Buxtehude) in Looming 2/2008.
