Flavio Soriga was born in Uta, a small village in Sardinia, Italy, in 1975.  He studied Journalism and Media Technology in Rome and Madrid and directed television programmes for regional Sardinian channels.  He received the Italo Calvino Prize in 2000 for his novel "Diavoli di Nuraiò" (The Devil from Nuraiò).  In 2002 he published his second novel "Neropioggia" ( Black Rain) which was awarded the Premio Grazia Deledda. Soriga works for the newspaper 'La Nuova Sardegna' and also for various magazines.  He is artistic director of Settembre dei Poeti, a festival of poetry in Seneghe.  Soriga lives in Cagliari, Bologna and London.
