Anna Kim, born in 1977 in South Korea, studied philosophy and dramatics in Vienna. Since 1999, she published her work in various literary magazines, among them "manuskripte", "Zwischenwelt", and "VOLLTEXT". Since 2000, she is a member of the Grazer Autorinnen Autorenversammlung (authors' assembly of Graz), in 2004 she received the Author’s Grant Vienna. Her debut "Die Bilderspur" (the Trace of Pictures) was published by the literary publishing house Droschl, which also published her latest novel "Die gefrorene Zeit" (Frozen Time). A further publication is the book of poems "das sinken ein bückflug" (sinking, a stooped flight; edition thurnhof, 2006)

In 2005, she participated in the contest for the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in Klagenfurt, Austria. For "Die gefrorene Zeit", she received the Heinrich Treichl Prize 2009 of the Austrian Red Cross; in September 2009, she received the advancement award for literature of the Republic of Austria.
