Andrés Barba Muñiz, born 1975 in Madrid, studied hispanic language and literature at the Universidad Complutense Madrid. He has published five novels, which have been translated into several languages. His debut novel "El hueso que más duele", was published 1998 and was awarded the Ramón J. Sender de Narrativa Price. "Versiones de Teresa", published by Anagrama 2006, was awarded the Torrente Ballester de Narrativa Price. His latest novel "Las manos pequeñas" came out in 2008.
Further, Andrés Barba has published numerous short stories, e.g. "La recta intención", Essays and children books. He adopted his novel "La hermana de Katia" as screen-play for a movie by the Dutch director Mijke de Jong in 2008.
Together with Teresa Barba he translates novels from English into Spanish.
